La suite sur les coulisses de ma première bande-dessinée.
Aujourd'hui je poursuis un peu la présentation des planches en vous présentant les toutes premières versions que j'ai envoyé. Il s'agit ici de mes essais de couleurs, jugés trop complexes ou me prenant trop de temps. Quand on sait que je n'avais finalement qu'un mois et demi environ pour boucler 44 planches, c'était évidemment irréaliste de vouloir faire les couleurs. Mais parce que je suis magnanime et qu'il faut savoir apprendre de ses erreurs, je vous les présente ici...et puis sinon, qui le fera ?

 

The next episode of the little secrets of my first comic book : "The secret history of the Blues 1993-1998".
Today I pursue a little the presentation of the boards by presenting you the very first versions that I sent. It is about my essays of colors, considered too complex or taking me too much time. When we know that I had finally only approximately one and a half month to draw 44 boards, it was obvious that I couldn't make the colors. But because I am generous and because it is necessary to know how to learn of his errors, I present them to you here...and then otherwise, who will make it?

Ici, c'était mon tout premier essai. Avais-je trop mangé de Jazz Maynard à l'époque ? Probable. En tout cas, la couleur qui en a résulté derrière n'avait rien de la simplicité de la BD sus-citée. Vu avec le recul, ce n'était pas terrible. Et j'ai bien galéré avec le texte...
Ci-dessous, mon deuxième essai de couleurs, que je trouve bien plus en accord avec ce que j'aime faire. La BD aurait pu être sympa aussi comme ça, non ? Mais je n'avais clairement pas le temps.

It was my very first try. Had I too much eaten of Jazz Maynard at this time? Surely. Anyway, the color which resulted from it had nothing of the simplicity of the BD quoted previously. Today, I find that rather knackered. And I had a hard time with the text...
Below, my second try of colors, which I find much more in agreement with what I like drawing. The comics would have been nice also like that, no? But I did not clearly have time.
